"The power is within your reach."

The ZX81 is a computer launched by Sinclair Research in 1981. Thanks to its extremely low cost of £70, it became the first mass-selling computer in the UK. Of course, this also meant it was a very low-end hardware, with a terrible membrane keyboard, a puny 1KB of RAM (expandable to 16KB), low-res monochrome graphics, and no sound capabilities. As people realized how weak it was, and better machines encroached on its price range, Sinclair introduced the far superior (but still very affordable) ZX Spectrum.
