NEC SuperGrafx

The SuperGrafx was released in '89, as the successor to the TurboGrafx-16. But NEC didn't really think this through: it was basically the same machine, only with more RAM, an extra video chip, and a much heftier price tag. Good thing it was backwards-compatible, because its own library consists of only five games (plus the two Darius games for the TG-16 that ran with better graphics on the SG). It was such a flop that it died out long before the system it was meant to succeed.

	1941 Counter Attack	Shoot 'em up	Capcom's World War II themed arcade shmup comes to the Supergrafx. Has barrel rolls, thunder bombs, and big ass warships. It was the only console port of 1941 before the Capcom Classics Collection Vol.2 for PS2/XB.
	Aldynes	Shoot 'em up	A challenging side-scrolling shmup with an R-Type-like feel. Lots of parallax scrolling and huge bosses, so the SuperGrafx wasn't completely pointless.
	Daimakaimura (Ghouls 'n Ghosts)	Platformer	A far more faithful port of Ghouls 'n Ghosts than the Genesis. Very accurate with SuperGrafx hardware as the graphics are a lot more impressive. The audio of the SuperGrafx version is a little off, but it still manages an arcade quality port. However, the best port is on the Sharp X68000 and is probably the exact same as the arcade (if only slightly different).
