The Evercade is an emulation-focused platform whose selling point is in physical cartridge re-releases of both classic console, computer and arcade games, and the release of new homebrew games made for classic systems. All Evercade cartridges currently are compilations of several games bundled together, typically from the one publisher.
There are currently three variants of Evercade:
- Evercade - the original 2020 handheld model with a 4.3-inch LCD screen and 4-5 hours of battery life.
- Evercade VS - console variant with HDMI output, 4 controls ports and 2 cartridge slots.
- Evercade EXP - improved 2022 handheld model with a higher resolution screen and TATE mode support (screen size and battery life remain unchanged).
All cartridges for the Evercade are supposed to be playable on any model (the two Namco Museum titles are the exceptions: due to licensing reasons, they can only be played on the original handheld).
